Thursday 26 March, 6:30pm screening followed by Q+A with director Julie Georgia Bernard
Hot off the success of her recent première at the Vancouver International Film Festival, Julie Georgia Bernard will showcase her documentary Handmade with Love in France at Hoyts Northlands, followed by an exclusive Q+A.
Celebrating the artisans who create haute couture outfits for the likes of Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel, the documentary has been named “The best film at this year’s festival” by the New Zealand Herald’s Viva Magazine.
Established in 1959, the Alliance Française de Christchurch is one of the nine AF in New Zealand. As a local not-for-profit organisation, it reflects the desire to share with others the love of the language, culture and other various aspects of the French way of life.
We offer courses for adults and children of all levels and all ages. All of our teachers are native French speakers and have a degree in French as a foreign language.
Teaching activities are complemented by a wide range of cultural and social events such as the Alliance Française French Film Festival, Pétanque Tournament, exhibitions etc. Our library also offers a wide selection of items in French (DVDs, books, magazines) and is open to all for a small annual fee.
